Fort Worth physician Dr. Charles Houston Harris, opens a hospital, the Harris Sanitarium, along with an allied school of nursing, the Harris School of Nursing, at 1028 5th Avenue just north of Rosedale Street.

1912
Fort Worth physician Dr. Charles Houston Harris, opens a hospital, the Harris Sanitarium, along with an allied school of nursing, the Harris School of Nursing, at 1028 5th Avenue just north of Rosedale Street.
1937
Dr. Harris establishes a trust to purchase the Methodist Hospital located at 300 West Cannon Street in Fort Worth, which was subsequently renamed the Harris Memorial Methodist Hospital. Dr. Harris moved his previous hospital to the new site along with the Harris School of Nursing.
1946
TCU President Dr. M.E. Sadler and Dr. Harris establish a partnership between the rebranded Harris College of Nursing and TCU to award the Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.
In the mid 20th century, TCU's campus, student body and school spirit grew exponentially, and along with it, the Harris College of Nursing.
1947
Classes in speech correction first offered at TCU, the foundation of today’s Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in speech-language pathology
A two-room frontier schoolhouse has evolved into today's beautiful 300-acre campus thanks to vision of Horned Frogs throughout the years.
